Are you sure they're broken?

Remember you don't have to enable ALSA by hand any more, use draksound.
And also remember default ALSA setting, for some insane and stupid
reason, is to mute everything, so you have to run alsamixer(gui) to get
any sound in the first place.

Anyway, what I really wanted to ask - what exactly *IS* the status of
ALSA in 9.0, anyway? I'm sure I remember reading a Changelog saying the
modules had been updated to 0.9rc3, but startup says 0.9rc2, and the
packaged ALSA libs/utils seem to be rc2. Do we have rc3 drivers and rc2
libs? What gives?
