What is the difference between /dev/sound and /dev/snd? Is one OSS and one ALSA?
What module in the cooker kernels needs to be loaded to have mic input? Everything works ok for me except for the fact that I get nothing from my mic. What ALSA device maps to /dev/dsp? This is not a fresh install, but a constant cooker upgrade, and when I switched from the kernel.org kernels (OSS) to the Mandrake cooker kernels (ALSA), I never had a link created for me. Thanks.
