That's exactly what I say. I use a fresh Install of Mandrake 9. Not
an upgrade. And a lot of people on the confirme list have the same
problem.
I don't know what is the business plan of Mandrake, But I hope they
don't want to sell only upgrade pack.
Look, I'm love Open Source and do a lot of mouth to ear advertising
for Linux and Mandrake, and I have 15 yeay of experiance like an
computer architect and Network specialist. I run Linux since 1994.
And with Mandrake 9 I can't use it as an router. End of the line !

Well I can't say what you did but I just used 9.0 on my router box
previuosly
running 8.2. First I don't know what you did but I set all my ip's
manually
accept for the 1 nic on the cable modem and I have 3 of them.
