Hi, I have a small problem with the new KDE3.1BETA2, too. KMIX is brocken on my computer. Attached yo will find the report of the KDE Crash Manager:

Sorry it is in german. The meaning of the output is, that I did not have the authorize to connect to the mixdevice: $ kmix kmix: Number of drivers : 2 kmix: Mixer_ALSA::openMixer - Enter kmix: ERROR: Kmix: Kein Mixer gefunden. Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass die Soundkarte installiert ist und der Treiber geladen ist. kmix: kmix: ERROR: Kmix: Sie haben keine Berechtigung, auf das Mischger�t zuzugreifen. Bitte sehen Sie in Ihrem Systemhandbuch nach, wie sich das �ndern l�sst. kmix: control.c:224: snd_ctl_card_info: Assertion `ctl && info' failed. ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error!
