Hi, This is on a more-or-less stock Mandrake 9.0.
When I run GTK apps (both gtk1 and gtk2) under KDE, the font types and sizes are all set to some horrid default. If I run gnome-settings-daemon before running gtk apps under KDE, then the gtk2 apps use the fonts specified from gnome-control-center. However, doing this causes the KDE desktop to vanish (I guess gnome-settings-daemon is replacing the X root window?) Additionally, the mouse cursor is set to the left-right double arrow when over most gtk widgets (both gtk1 and gtk2). The fonts also appear differently - when I start Konqueror under Gnome2, it clearly uses the same font as under KDE, but at a larger size. When I start gtk2 apps under KDE, they are clearly using the same font, but at a smaller size. I have screenshots demonstrating this behavior at: http://www.litech.org/~walter/screenshots/konq-on-gnome.png http://www.litech.org/~walter/screenshots/konq-on-kde.png http://www.litech.org/~walter/screenshots/gedit-default-kde.png http://www.litech.org/~walter/screenshots/gedit-on-kde.png (unfortunately KSnapshot doesn't seem to capture the mouse cursor, but in the two Gedit screenshots, the cursor looks like <-> ) Any idea what might be causing this? Regards, Walter Chang
