Not needed.
Are you sure that you did not install with --nodeps?
from gramps.spec for gramps-0.8.0-1mdk.i586.rpm
"Requires: python >= 1.5.2
Requires: pygnome >= 1.0.53"
and pygnome requires pygtk.
Unless there is a problem with your installation you should not have
been missing either pkg.
