-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have been working on packages of samba3 (currently alpha20), which I would like to put in contrib.
They install parallel to the current stable samba, you can only have one running on a particular interface at a time though. At the moment, I am defining _prefix as /opt/samba3. These are the directories used at present: /etc/logrotate.d /etc/pam.d /etc/rc.d/init.d /etc/samba3 /etc/xinetd.d /lib /lib/security /opt/samba3/bin /opt/samba3/sbin /opt/samba3/share/man/man1 /opt/samba3/share/man/man5 /opt/samba3/share/man/man7 /opt/samba3/share/man/man8 /opt/samba3/share/samba3 /opt/samba3/share/swat /sbin /usr/lib /usr/lib/cups/backend /usr/lib/menu /usr/share/doc /usr/share/doc/samba3-doc-3.0 /usr/share/doc/samba3-doc-3.0/docs /usr/share/doc/samba3-doc-3.0/examples /usr/share/icons /usr/share/icons/large /usr/share/icons/mini /var/cache /var/lib/samba3 /var/log/samba3 /var/run/samba3 /var/spool/samba3 I pulled some other tricks to not conflict with current samba. I guess I shouldn't actually put packages with files in /opt in the distro, so how should I define _prefix now? And what about Mandrake 9.0, I guess I can use /opt for samba3 RPMs for 9.0?
