hmm, going to have to check something out...macromedia changed directions went solely into their mx line, sold almost everything off, but not sure about fontographer, which will create fonts in every format available at the time they stopped development. On Sat, 2002-10-19 at 07:25, Austin Acton wrote:So as Mandrake folk mentioned earlier, the immediate plans for 9.1 are bugfixes and package updates. What I'm seeing on the cooker list is a desire for: better fonts, better font control, better hardware support, fancier widgets. So the questions I see are: 1. Since font availability and hardware support are not immediate Mandrake problems, is there any way Mandrake can help the linux community as a whole build better font libraries and better hardware drivers? 2. Since font control and widget control are immediate Mandrake problems, are there any plans to upgrade/rewrite drakfont, and update libdrakx (or whatever) to GTK2 or QT3? Just out of curiosity... And no, "all of the above would be nice" is not a cool answer. :-) AustinIf you actually read the archives, you'd know that it's already been confirmed all drak tools will be ported to GTK2. You'd also know Frederic Crozat is going to implement freetype 2.1.x, Xft2 and fontconfig, which will help font rendering.
if they didn't sell it yet they may be willing to.
