On 8.x series and current 9.0 (may be cooker), even if i precise the speed of writing (here 2), the burning message always displays: Starting to write CD/DVD at speed 4 in real TAO mode for single session.
The speed is 8 for normal cdroms, and even if i ask for 4, it writes 8 (which sometimes causes trouble for iso burinig for example). Is it normal operation, or just a mistake in the cdrecord output ? Stef Here is an example : [stephane@pcumr70 stephane]$ cdrecord -dev=0,0,0 -speed=2 abuledu-1.0.7.iso Cdrecord 1.11a31 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jrg Schilling scsidev: '0,0,0' scsibus: 0 target: 0 lun: 0 Linux sg driver version: 3.1.22 Using libscg version 'schily-0.6' Device type : Removable CD-ROM Version : 0 Response Format: 2 Capabilities : Vendor_info : 'HL-DT-ST' Identifikation : 'CD-RW GCE-8240B ' Revision : '1.07' Device seems to be: Generic mmc CD-RW.
