Hi, I'm using drakconf-9.0-6mdk and I have noticed the following things in the "Connection" utility within the "Network & Internet" section.
I wanted to create 2 profiles; 1 for work and 1 for home for a laptop. All the network settings need to different. However, I notice the following: 1. DNS and gateway settings appear to be common between profiles. This is a problem because these settings are not the same on my home and work network. 2. Host name appears common between profiles. Indeed, if the host name is changed within the wizard, the "Connection" GUI still shows the old name. Also, the new hostname appears not to be used until the laptop is rebooted. 3. It is not clear which settings eg. Internet access and LAN configuration are current when a different profile is selected, say from default to home. I suggest that a profile contains as many network variables as possible eg. includes hostname, DNS and gateway settings. Maybe these issues have already been addressed but I have not found any E-mails on the mailing list. Regards, Dean.
