I see:

I actually *only* changed uncommenting the thing for
the jud in jabber.xml.  The hostname is actually reset
by the init script.  It's set to the value of
$HOSTNAME

The important thing with Jabber is when you make an
account it has the *hostname* of the Jabber server. 
So even if you're on the server, you can't use
localhost, it has to be the hostname.
