Are you really sure about this??? I run a production DC on Mandrake 8.2,
so it was actually running 2.2.6-1.1mdk (my RPMs which were on
ftp.samba.org mirrors) and never saw this. There is almost no difference
between 1.1mdk and 4.1mdk AFAIK.

Did you manage to do any debugging and get any sensible logs?

I haven't installed 2.2.7-1.1mdk on our DC yet ...
