Issuing the reboot/poweroff command as a user, /usr/bin/reboot is invoked which is a softlink to consolehelper and reboot/poweroff is performed via some console magic. However, GNOME seems to call /sbin/reboot, which gives me the error message "reboot: must be a superuser" in ~/.xsession-errors and reboot/poweroff fails.
