           Product: drakconf
         Component: drakconf
Summary: Mandrake Control Center can't handle NTFS drives
           Version: 9.0-6mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have an NTFS drive as my second hard drive in my Mandrake box. Whenever I
open the Mandrake Control Center and select Hardware->Hard Drives, I get the
following error:

partitions sector #218129509 (811GB) and sector #729050177 (259GB) are overlapping!

I also saw this error while I was upgrading from Mandrake 8.2 to Mandrake 9.0.

When I was upgrading my machine, I tried removing the NTFS drive, and that made
the problem go away. I was able to install 9.0 and later reconnect the hard
drive and mount it fine, so I think the OS is making the assumption that I only
have *nux style filesystems.

When I hit cancel, I get the following:

I can't read the partition table of device hdb, it's too corrupted for me :(
I can try to go on, erasing over bad partitions (ALL DATA will be lost!).
The other solution is to not allow DrakX to modify the partition table.
(the error is partitions sector #218129509 (811GB) and sector #729050177 (259GB)
are overlapping!.
)

Do you agree to loose all the partitions?

Ran into this again tonight. Clicked on Mount Points, and I get the same error
no matter what I select (Cd-rom, Floppy, etc).

I would be willing to beta test a fix for this, please contact me if you would
like me to do so.
