           Product: drakxtools
         Component: DrakConnect
Summary: valid non-numeric characters stripped from phone number
                    when configuring ppp connection
           Version: 9.1-0.2mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When entering a phone number that contains valid non-numeric characters (such as
'#' and ',') in the phone number to dial for connecting to an ISP, drakconnect
incorreclty strips these characters from the phone number when writing
configurations for kppp and ifup.

These characters are typically needed when setting up a connection to dial
through a PABX. For example, our PABX requires us to dial:
49,<PIN NUMBER>#,0,<OUTSIDE NUMBER>

Modems interpret ',' as a pause, allowing one to make allowance for the delays
required for the pabx to respond. Getting drakconnect to do the right thing with
fup requires editing config files, the kppp settings can of course be changed,
but it would be nice if it were not necessary.
