bugzilla was not co-operating when I tried to reply there.
This bug affects All radeon cards when/if dri is enabled.
It is caused because the drm module is not included in the with the
2.4.20-2 kernel.
You can rebuild the kernel and include that module or run without dri
and await the next mdk kernel which will hopefully include said module.
