of them do absolutely nothing. So I switched to using gnome-alsamixer. Works sweet, even though I'm in KDE.
It appear the kde config files are incompatibles in some way with older versions. I didn't investigated deeply to find the tiny buggy line in the right config file. Thogh, deleting all .kde .kderc .qt directories returned the mixer to a normal state.
Maybe some kde guru could investigate on this
