postgresql-doc package seems not to own its top-level directory, meaning it
remains on the system after upgrade:
[guillaume@silbermann doc]$ ll postgresql-docs* -d
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1 Feb 11 2002 postgresql-docs-7.1.3/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1 Apr 9 2002 postgresql-docs-7.2/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1 Sep 6 12:27 postgresql-docs-7.2.1/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1 Oct 30 11:49 postgresql-docs-7.2.2/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1 Jan 6 14:19 postgresql-docs-7.2.3/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 23 Jan 6 14:19 postgresql-docs-7.3.1/
[guillaume@silbermann doc]$ rpm -q postgresql-docs
postgresql-docs-7.3.1-4mdk

apache-conf has a file directly in /usr/share/doc:
[guillaume@silbermann doc]$ ll /usr/share/doc/README.apache-conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1 Nov 9 09:02
/usr/share/doc/README.apache-conf
[guillaume@silbermann doc]$ rpm -qf /usr/share/doc/README.apache-conf
apache-conf-1.3.27-2mdk

expands to fill any void.
