try: modprobe battery you might also like: modprobe ac modprobe button modprobe fan modprobe processor modprobe thermal and then to save the bother, you can put all this in /etc/modules: ac battery button fan processor thermal All this is, so far as I can find, documented nowhere at all. Someone really needs to write some half-decent acpi documentation...(and no, I'm not doing it, because all I know came out of this list). -- adamw
