There are a number of issues: 1)xinetd config file This would probably best be done by splitting saned into a seperate package, that requires xinetd. An example xinetd config file is in the saned man page. 2)Create a saned user 3)Add saned to /etc/services 4)Add host entries to /etc/sane.d/saned.conf 5)Ensure user saned will always have read/write access to the scanner devices.
