------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-18 15:04 -------
I tried both grub and lilo without success, reinstalled with ext2 at the root partion,
tried
expert mode without success.
Finally found the solution: remove the initrd statement (using grub)

Sidenote: I would prefer to get an option to use grub or to not install bootloader at
all. It
is cumbersome to use bootdisk to get back to old installation, just to reinstall grub
(including my own bootoptions).
For some reason, I did not get an option to create bootdisk at installation. I could
do that
in expert mode, but it did not work (bad initrd there too?)

description:
Clean install with formatting the root partition. No major problem seen. However,
after installation the startup fail. The error message flash by, but the last part
mentions reiserfs problems. Cant see the first message...
I tried installing a second time, same result.

I can mount the 9.1b1 partition from the 9.0 partition without error messages. There
are no logs. From what I can see, the installation is fine. There are no error
messages in /var/log.
