Very cool! If you could make your script into some kind of server (olny accepting connections from the local machine), a KDE or GNOME client sitting in the panel of the desktop could be alerted whenever a USB device is plugged in/removed, and display the appropriate message. This way, the administrator could set up the server to only allow connections from users allowed to use the USB devices. If you want to send me the script, I'll try to do it :-) David Sansome
