------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-22 18:53 ------- I'm running the 9.1b2 kernel with acpi turned on.. it knows when it is plugged in and when there is a bettery in , but it can't tell any more than that.. no battery levels.. or anyhting.. so its basically useless.. but it is there.. I was using APM with the 9.0 kernel fine, other than the time on my system getting off over time. Have you made sure you have the most recent DELL BIOS update? dells bios seems to be fairly buggy.. that could be a issue. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] description: 3 system freezes experienced on an inspiron 8200 notebook. Those freeze happen when the system is running, probably in conjunction with the fan switching on. Hardware problems unlikely, since Mandrake 8.2 is happily running on it. The test machine uses proprietary drivers: NVidia kernel and graphics and hsf conexant modem (both of them the latest versions officially available as for today rebuilt on the tested OS, Mandrake 9.0 rc3). Problem with the modem driver unlikely, there could be a chance that the problem is caused/affects the proprietary display driver (APM issue?). I'm willing to recompile the kernel and do further tests if needed.
