No, half the debutant@ subscribers encountered the same problem.
I fixed the pb with the tip published on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
adding
if [ -x /usr/X11R6/bin/enable_X11_numlock ]; then
/usr/X11R6/bin/enable_X11_numlock
fi
in either /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0 or /etc/X11/gdm/init/Default
However, it is not important, one has just to press numlock key, there is more
intersting things to fix for 9.1 b2 :)

As discussed on [EMAIL PROTECTED], most of us encounter a numlock problem.
Deamon is started but is not activated when KDE is started. It seems that the
problem is the same with Gnome.(not tested)
Config :
MDK 9.0
KDE 3.0.4
It used to work on my Mdk 8.2 but some users had the same problem with 8.2
