I am using Cooker-9.1-i586 20030117 19:04
I have 2 60GB IDE drives connected to seperate channels on a Highpoint 372 Raid
controller on an Abit KX7-333R motherboard. I am not using the Raid controller
for Raid functionality but for performance.
I have set aside 20gb to install Beta 2 on the 2nd disk.
I have a dualboot with WinXP installed on Disk 1 and WinME on Disk 2.
The installer detects the drives ok as far as i can tell however after accepting
the license the installer complains that both drives have unknown partition
table formats.
the log shows :
test_for_hard_drives (/dev/hde)
error reading magic number on disk hde at
/usr/bin/perl-install/partition_table/empty.pm line 28
error while reading partition table in sector 0 at
/usr/bin/perl-install/partition_table/dos.pm line 63
it then goes on to fail reading sector 0 in bsd.pm, sun.pm & mac.pm
I have got Powerquest Bootmagic installed however i was suffering this fault
before i installed it.
The installer fails on both my drives which are seen has HDE & HDG.
I have tried adding a 3rd IDE disk as HDG which is unformatted and it doesn't
complain about this.
