Reinout's comment sounds to me like an excuse to justify his lack of continued interest and lack of persistence. Or pehaps he just has an argumentative personality or a need to control; it doesn't really matter. I don't like getting up early to be at work, especially since there is no logical reason for me to do my work during any specific part of the day and it would be easy for my boss to relent on her demands that I arrive at work at a certain time, but I adjust and get on with business.
