           Product: Installation
         Component: hardware
Summary: Bad detection of partition table of HDD on Highpoint
RAID 372 - imposible to continue!
           Version: 1.772
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If HDD is connected to this RAID controler (not in RAID mode, ordinary single
drive), detection of harddrives lasts about 1 minute and then it finds right
number of partition, but not in correct order and size and it shows unknown
type of them.
Strange is fact, that disk is connected as /dev/hdA even though normal chipset
integrated ATA controler is working correctly.
It seems to be caused by support for HPT366 raid in kernel.
Tested with motherboard EPoX 8K9A2+ (latest BIOS), HPT 372, three diferent
HDDs.
(btw. RedHat 8.0 has no such support in kernel and works fine)
