On the 1/31 Cooker, I do not get the HASH error. However, drakfont hangs about
80% of the way through copying the fonts (second progress bar). I started
drakfont from the command line to be able to view stdout/stderr, and there are
no error messages. Just "Windows Fonts Installation" and "Fonts to install"
followed by the list of fonts.

The fonts are being read from a Win2000 NTFS partition with Office2000 installed.

However, I also have a Win98 partition with Office97 installed, and if I
manually unmount the Win2000 partition, drakfont converts the fonts from the
Win98 (FAT32) partition just fine.

So I decided to reboot and manually copy the Win2000 fonts over to the Linux
partition and install them from there. Guess what. The "cp" hangs midway
through copying the files ( cp /mnt/win_d/winnt/fonts/* .)

These hangs are solid ones, resisting even kill -9.

I think that this bug is in the NTFS kernel support. I remember it coming up
during the 9.0 beta period (you can probably find the cooker messages on MARC),
and it was never fixed for release. Looks like it still hasn't been.
