When the updated, and much attacked KDM login screen was released several days ago, I changed my login manager to GDM, by altering the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file to say DISPLAYMANAGER=gdm.
This worked fine. Now that it sppears the original version of KDM has been restored, I wanted to change back. I changed my /etc/sysconfig/desktop file back to DISPLAYMANAGER=kdm. I am still getting GDM, not KDM, when I log in. My question: Why did changing the desktop file back to KDM not make the system use KDM for the login manager? Thanks in advance. Paul Misner
