Hi again, I am very happy that mdkkdm has his own package now. And that's also a good idea to split KDE packages in smaller ones prefixed by the official KDE name.
So now after all the noise I made on this mailing-list I would like to help people who want to test mdkkdm or to go back to kdm. If you want kdm : urpmi kdebase-kdm If you want to test mdkkdm : urpmi mdkkdm After that, if you want to have kdm as DM, just put the line following in /etc/sysconfig/desktop : DISPLAYMANAGER=kdm If you want gdm : DISPLAYMANAGER=gdm If you want xdm : DISPLAYMANAGER=xdm And if you want mdkkdm : DISPLAYMANAGER=kde To understand how it's work just look at /etc/X11/prefdm. Take care that you didn't modify it before so thatmdkkdm related lines had been added. If not, just look at /etc/X11/prefdm.rpmnew and manually merge :) That's all. Thank's a lot and sorry again but I am prood to announce that I have upgraded my MandrakeClub level to support you as I said in my #!%@!! mail ;) Shift PS : To Mandrake team : Why did you choose "KDE" and "kde" for mdkkdm DISPLAYMANAGER option ? Why not adding "MDKKDM" and "mdkkdm" so that it is less confused ?
