I use an Orinoco with 9.0 and had to set two items SSID and channel using the
config tool found in MCC.

My AP is in infrastructure mode and uses mac authentication.

description:
Computer is HP XT375 Laptop. Has internal wireless compatible with
orinoco_pci driver built into the kernel. Mandrake 9.1 Beta 3 autodetects the
wireless chip and I can run the network configurator. I have been unable to
connect to the internet after configuration. The network tool indicates
connection failed. The internal adapter works under Redhat 8.0 after
doing "modprobe orinoco_pci" and running netcfg tool and using defaults for
the wireless settings. I am not sure whether the network tools are to blame
or my skill using them.
