Hi all,

some time ago I remember seeing a screenshot of rpmdrake with a window
to diff files that would otherwise end up as .rpmnew files. I just tried
rpmdrake to see if this very feature was present, and it was not.

Has this feature been removed? I thought it was a superb idea. I would
suggest getting it to load vimdiff or one of its cousins would be a
great way to deal with this.

Also, I recall hearing rumours that I can get urpmi/rpmdrake to talk
rysnc - this would be great, I could finally download the descriptions
in a reasonable timeframe when I do urpmi.update. It is now listed in
the man page but running 'urpmi.addmedia' with no flags does not list
rsync as a possible transfer method. I haven't tested it yet but it
should probably be added there (apologies if it has been done, my urpmi
is a little old)

Some simple aesthetic changes:

the default config for mutt *really* needs to be set up to do colours.
The mandrake mutt will do them if you edit the .muttrc but I really
think the /etc/muttrc or whatever it is should have some settings to
make it use colour.

Finally, I use xterms for just about all of my work. It has irritated me
for ages that the dark blue colour that ls uses is so dark that it's
almost unreadable on a white on black xterm. IIRC, debian uses a nicer
colour for this - it's just an X resource setting, isn't it? There are
people that still use xterms :) I think the colour they use on debian is
"DodgerBlue" or something similar. It's still readable in the
black-on-white setup as well.

Sorry I haven't spoken sooner, I've been a bit too busy of late.

Thanks all,

James.
