The "Desktop Appearance" shows examples of the desktop selected in the
background. The samples do not have anti-aliased fonts and therefore look much
worse than they will look after logging in. (Appearance is everything.) Also,
both the GNOME and the IceWM choices have their backgrounds in French, although
it is an English installation. Perhaps bitmaps could be made for each language?
