One thing more:
In /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-ippp the slave configuration is done
wrong.
# on demand (SV)
isdnctrl dialmode $SLAVE $I4L_DIALMODE
This makes the dialmode of the slave the same as the master device.
This is:
1)
not recommended according to the isdn4linux FAQ:
http://www.isdn4linux.de/faq/i4lfaq-18.html#ss18.7
"When using manual control please ensure that the slave device is shut down
before the master device. Currently (August 2002) there is a hard-to-fix bug
in the MPPP code which will cause a crash on the next dialout. A patch exists
which cures the symptoms to prevent the crash (see mailing list). However,
since the dialout will fail in any case it is best to avoid this situation
altogether by using the proper shutdown sequence."
2)
It prevents ibod from being usefull.
Further to mention that the dialmode of the slave device has with normal isdn
a different meaning as for the master:
Again from i4l FAQ: "With syncPPP, there is no automatic activation of slave
devices, they have to be added and removed. However, there is the program
ibod available, which can do this automatically. Have a look at:
http://www.compound.se/ibod.html or (for a version extended by Karsten Keil):
http://www.suse.de/~kkeil/xibod/"
So it should be:
# on demand (SV)
isdnctrl dialmode $SLAVE auto
Of course it must be ensured then that ibod is not installed or started by
default.
