Well there are other advantages to using maildir. If cuyrus can not handle 
maildir type directories then I myself am not interested. It's proven ot be 
faster in everything but searching. I however dont really care about the 
speed. It's simply a superior way to store files. Kmail is proof of that. 

With mbox style files kmail on my system was maxing out at about 100,000 
email's or so. Now that it is using maildir type folders I can have way 
beyond that ammount of email stored.
