I have a similar problem with 9.1 beta 2 and 3 once I put the cd rom in the
drive and use it frequently there is nothing I can to do eject the disk except
reboot the PC.

Try this in mdk90:
put a cdrom to your cdrom drive (/dev/hdc) in my case.
On the KDE desktop click removable media icon
Konquestor starts, click cdrom icon
you browse cdrom in Konquestor, nice!
now try to change your cdrom, REAL PROBLEM, cdrom drive is not locked, you can
even send EJECT command by right click on cdrom icon. But in all cases, cd tray
starts to open BUT very soon it starts reverse movement. There is no save way to
change a cdrom. The only workaround I found is to close all Konquestor windows.
than it is possible to change a cdrom...
