Feedback:

A7N8X m/b, I am back to acpi=off. Without any parameter, the 3C920 is
assigned IRQ21, ifplugd detects it and the device gets an IP, but it
does not work.

kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
kernel: eth0: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 status 8601.
kernel: diagnostics: net 0cc0 media 8080 dma 0000003a.
kernel: eth0: Interrupt posted but not delivered -- IRQ blocked by
another device?

No other device is using this interrupt.

Booting with pci=noacpi, everything seems to work. The acpi modules can
be inserted, but don't provide any information:

$ cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info
processor id: 0
acpi id: 0
bus mastering control: no
power management: no
throttling control: no
performance management: no
limit interface: no

Then, while I was writing this message, X froze, so I am back to
acpi=off and thankful to evolution autosave of drafts.

Thanks to everyone who is working on this. Let us know what information
we can provide.
