The dialog for the root password is a security-enhanced program (usermode) that does grab the focus exclusively. I think that's normal (well, "wanted") operation because of the security issue. When you're in that dialog, you also can't switch desktop with key shortcuts, etc. Gnome probably receives absolutely no key input events (to circumvent sniffing probably). @resolution=wontfix -- Guillaume Cottenceau - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~gc/
