Because the .so for the Galaxy KDE style is libthememdk.so, which has nothing to do
with the
plugin ID "galaxy", Qt is unable to guess the right plugin, and is therefore wasting
time trying
various other ones. This introduces a small startup-time penalty and some slight
memory
pressure penalty for KDE apps, and possibly a not-to-slight penalty for Qt apps since
you end
up bringing in kdecore w/kthemestyle.
Suggestion: Make the plugin galaxy.so
