I just confirmed this bug,
I did a fresh install on a Tyan Thunder K7, and an Asus A7M266-D.
Neither board was recognized as a Dual Athlon board. Somewhere the
smp detection got screwed up.

I have a dual-processor Athlon machine. All the tools see it as a uni-processor one,
and the
SMP kernel does not appear as an option anyway.
This problem did not appear with 9.0, or with any prior version.
