------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-20 09:04 -------
Did a fresh install of MDK 9.1 RC1. This solved the problem. After installing I put
back
the backup I made of my home directory. This reintroduced the problem. I then removed
the folder ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror. This solved the problem again.

My conlusion is that some sort fo setting caused this behaviour.

I see this bug as closed :-)

description:
Runing Mandrake with latest Cooker updates. This problem startet on 17.02.2003
after updating my system against cooker in the morning.

I start Konqueror and everything is ok. My default startup page is
http://linuxtoday.com. Klicking on ANY link on this page makes Konqueror eat all
memory and swap space in a few seconds (P4 1,8 GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 1 GB
with swap).

I have during these days used Konqueror to rip some music cds' to ogg files with
out problems.

I have to packages installed that is not from the Cooker site. SUN's java
runtime environment and Macromedias flash plug-in.
