Ok so that's not a stage1 problem but a plain installation one.
After checking with hardware ppl, seems that the fact is there is no support for
hptraid (no free software driver available).

I have Adaptec 1200A IDE RAID (HPT366 is found by the installation program).
Installation 1st stage indicates in a log file, that hptraid is not found.
Installation proceeds, but in a RAID 1 two drives are seen separately (hde and
hdg) instead of being seen as one raid drive.
I've tried different images, but could not achieve a positive result.
