           Product: Hardware
         Component: Network
Summary: Broadcom 4401 driver not included
           Version: 9.1-0.1mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have a ASUS motherboard A7V8x with a Broadcom 4401 10/100 nic built-in.
I could not find a driver from you list that would work with this
nic.

After rebooting, I manually compiled and installed the driver
by adding the driver to /lib/modules/.../.. and added the driver name
to /etc/modules.conf 'alias eth0 bcm4401'
I could not find a way to get the network install tools to
configure the TCPIP configuration with the installed driver.
Therefore most of the drake tools think no network is installed.

I configured the network by editing /etc/sysconfig/network and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0. It appears to
try a dhcp, before installing the static ip address.
