I just saw an article today where some moron switched from Mandrake 9.0 
to RedHat (8.0 even!) because of that.

Shouldn't the main KDE Panel at the bottom of the screen default to the "normal"
size instead of the tiny size.  Doing so would make first impression of the
screen much more modern than the tiny icons displayed with the current setting
(I know people can easily change the size, but if most people set it to normal,
then why not default it to that?).

By making this change, I think people will quit complaining about how dated the
default KDE looks (the icons look pretty plain when the KDE Panel is set to tiny).

This is not a critical issue, but since Mandrake is spending a lot of time on
the user interface, it would be a plus to have KDE look as nice as possible.
