This is still an issue with the latest XFree86 package. In fact, suspending has
gotten worse to the point where sometimes it won't even resume. I have had to
Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot the system (which tells me that X isn't running properly
if that key combination actually works). Fortunately, it will reboot cleanly
although the screen stays corrupted until the machine reboots. 

My guess is this new behavior is more a result of the new suspend-scripts
behavior though because it appears to be trying to switch to a console before
suspending, then switching back to X upon resume. This is probably where X is
failing.

However, the original problem is still an issue.

When I close the lid on my IBM Thinkpad T20, then open it later the screen is
corrupted and I must switch to a console then back to X to fix the screen. 

It looks like Red Hat has some issues open on this 1.1.26 driver too. They seem
to suggest using the 1.1.27 test release and most people are reporting success.
