Okay, it seems what was wrong was that necessary basic files were not installed
during the initial MDK installation. Printerdrake didn't check this, so it
prompted me about installing packages for searching for networked printers. When
I agreed, it installed the necessary stuff, and after restarting printerdrake,
the PSC 2210 was correctly found... but not setup. I'll file another bug report
about that.

Anyway this is still a bug: If I hadn't decided to agree to install packages for
searching for local networked printers, I would never have found my
non-networked printer via Printerdrake.

Hi,
My HP PSC 2210 (hpoj), which was detected properly by Mandrake 9.0 (although
it did select the wrong CUPS module for it), is not detected by the new version
of printerdrake. The only options I'm given are to either cancel out of
printerdrake or install up to "80 MB" to check for printers on local networks.

In addition to the specific problem with the PSC 2210, this also makes me want
to suggest that it might be good to have a way to still get to the old style
Printerdrake selection screen so that undetected printers can be setup.

Anyway, I should add that Harddrake "sees" the scanner component of the PSC
2210, so it isn't a communcations problem. Any ideas?

  Thanks,
       Tim
