------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-22 17:21 -------
this seems to be related to the known printer issue from the release notes.
it works ok, if no extra packages are selected on the software selection page.
it does not work, if an extra software group is selected. the difference is if you
select
additional software packages, obviously the parallelport modules are not installed. as
a
consequence the printer part seems to hang.
in contrast to the release notes, it hangs BEFORE the summary page is displayed, and
not just when the configure printer button is pressed. besides, it is independent
whether
a printer is connected to not. the release notes state, you should swicth off all
printers
while installation. well, my test machine does not have a printer connected ;-)

description:
Hello again,
I'm sorry again that I don't know how to figure out if the Installer of MDK9.1RC1 is
version 1.789 or not.
Anyway, on the summary page in the German localisation I had an endless error loop
showing this error message again and again:
----------8<---------------cut---------------------8<--------------------
Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten: (english translation: an error occured)
undefined subroutine &main:: called
----------8<---------------cut---------------------8<--------------------
--> The Installation could not be completed.
However, on the next try, booting from the same CDs, the installation worked
flawlessly.
I will try to gather some more information, maybe it depends on the package selection.
If I find some reproducable conditions, I will update this report.
In the meantime I hope that this piece of information is helpful already.
Regards,
Joachim
