There is a dependency on gstreamer-audiosink which pulls either gstreamer-alsa,
gstreamer-oss, gstreamer-jack or gstreamer-esound. Which one did you had
installed on your system ?
Anyway, playing twice doesn't work, confirming..

Start gnome-sound-recorder. Open a wav file from /usr/share/sounds and press on
the Play button. No sound is heared and the length of the file is set to 0
seconds. When closing gnome-sound-recorder, the program crashes.
I could solve it by installing the gstreamer-oss package. Or
gnome-sound-recorder should require this package, or the gstreamer package
should require it.
