Yep - the RC1 resizes NTFS properly and don't reformat it, so now my test case works.
thanks.

description:
When installing on a computer with an existing NTFS partition, DiskDrake allows me to
resize
the NTFS partition , but when continuing it tries to format the partition to NTFS ,
fails to do that
("don't know how to format to NTFS") and then returns to the previous screen with the
disk
partitioning options ("use entire disk","use existing partitions",etc'). the only way
I found to
continue the installation was to remove the NTFS partition entirely.
I haven't checked what happens if I don't do anything to the existing NTFS partition
and install
to a different disk or an empty space on the same drive (I don't have any of those)
