Why would you want to run sasl2? IMHO sasl2 in cooker is a joke. Not one package (except cyrus-sasl) is using it:
Well, I don't want to run sasl2 - actually, I don't care about it at all. I've updated my system and found out that samba isn't working anymore. I thought, this was because of the upgrade to sasl2. IIRC, I also saw an error message about /var/lib/sasl2/sasl.db not existing.
For the Requires (of the binary packages) only cyrus-sasl-2.1.10-2mdk requires libsasl2. The rest requires libsasl7:
cyrus-sasl-2.1.10-2mdk.i586.rpm
! cyrus-sasl requires libsasl7? That's broken!
